Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro: Everything you need to know before the launch
The Meizu 17 and 17 Pro will be officially launched this Friday, May 8 at 8:30 am (Paris Time) and 2:30 p.m. (Zhuhai Time), We will broadcast live on Facebook the launch conference that will take place online due to the Covid-19 crisis. The price of the two devices stays obviously the big question that remains unanswered. Meizu will be particularly expected at this level in a context where we are witnessing a general increase in prices on the part of the competition.
Regarding accessories, Meizu has planned to release an ultra-fast 60W GaN charger as well as a 30W compatible Powerbank. Since the 17 Pro is wireless charging compatible, the manufacturer should also launch a 27W-compatible wireless charger.

28/04 – The Meizu 17 Pro is unveiled with a ToF camera!
Meizu releases the first official image of the 17 Pro! The manufacturer has teamed up with renowned Taiwan’s Gyohogama porcelain maker to provide the 17 Pro with a ceramic body.
The 17 Pro is likely equipped with a different photo configuration of the Meizu 17. In this photo published by Meizu, the manufacturer announces the presence of a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. A TOF camera can measure a scene in real time in 3D. An ideal sensor to enhance portraits and augmented reality experiences.
27/04 – A 64-megapixel camera
For its first smartphone to incorporate a 64MP sensor, the manufacturer has chosen the Sony IMX686 successor to the IMX586 announced at the end of 2019 to equip the Meizu 17. It is not said that the PRO version is equiped with the same sensor.
26/04 – A 90Hz Super Amoled display and a 4500 mAh battery
Highly anticipated by the tech community, the Meizu 17 will be equipped with a screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The refresh rate measures the number of images that can be displayed per second by a screen. The higher it is, better the visual experience is A 4500 mAh battery with 30W fast charge will also be used.
23/04 – New official visual of Meizu 17 and Snapdragon 865 confirmed
The 17 is displayed in a brand new visual where we discover its matte black backside and a horizontal layout of the photo module. Equipped with 4 sensors and one of a circular flash, it should integrate the Sony IMX 686 sensor, at least in its classic version.
Also, and unsurprisingly the 17 series will be powered by the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 865
22/04 – Launch on 8 May
As agreed Meizu sent his press invitations for a launch event on May 8. The flagship should be available immediately after the conference.
17/04 – Meizu unveils Meizu 17’s design and launch date
The long awaited moment has arrived, Meizu has just unveiled the design of the 17th. The manufacturer’s first 5G smartphone appears with thin white borders on the front and a small punch.
Press invitations for the launch conference will be sent on April 22 by announcing a launch date for May 8.
